The hag is the crone well aware of sacred darkness, in darkness we conjure the vortex of the light, the mullein hag torch is traditionally all about finding our own spaces even within darkness, primarily lit on and around the dark moon to the new moon and beyond!
Mullein signifying sacred surfacing of better times, fertility and enlightenment!
My favourite especially for dark moon and new moon rituals- for my goddess Hekate’s altar.
Light them especially after sunset to signify the ushering of newer times. The dissolving of darkness and the strength of the night!

Burning a mullein torch is quite like smudging (with added benefits) as it clears away negative energy, protects against all evils, purifies the air, thins the veil between dimensions, and brings spiritual protection. Mullein candles make for a great tool for your Samhain / Halloween ritual, outdoor celebrations etc.
A mullein torch crafted with beeswax, sandalwood, and dragon's blood resin is a powerful and versatile tool in spiritual practices and rituals. The base of the torch is formed using dried mullein stalks, chosen for their association with protection and healing energies.

These stalks are carefully bound together and coated with beeswax, which provides stability and ensures a slow, steady burn. Dragon's blood resin, prized for its deep red color and potent protective qualities, is added to enrich the visual appeal of the torch as well as to imbue it with strong energetic properties, helping to ward off negative energies, strengthen intentions and provide spiritual fortitude. How to use – Before igniting, cut off the tip of the torch so you can light the "wick" which is the actual Mullein stalk.
Each Mullein torch possesses its own distinctiveness, showcasing the essence of its
beauty. Each torch is dipped in organic beeswax. Mullein torches are used in
Europe and Asia for rituals varying from funeral rites, harvest celebrations and
as a protection from evil and harmful magic. Energetically and spiritually, Mullein
serves as a candle in the dark to guide us through darkness and shadows. Mullein
also lights up our inner world to help us illuminate and process grief and sadness,
emotions that are often held in the lungs.
The Mullein torch will gracefully burn at an
approximate rate of 15-20 minutes per inch, ideally consumed in its entirety in one
session. However, if necessary, you may extinguish it safely by dipping it in water

and subsequently cut the stalk for multiple uses. It is recommend to use these
torches outside and under close watch. Burning outside in a fire pit is ideal. You
can also place the end of the stalk into a heatproof vessel with sand, a taper candle
holder, or stick the torch right into the ground.
